Step Right Up is blasting out of Chicago like hailing
gunfire. Since 2012, they have been leveling their city
skyline like George and Lizzie on a rampage, inspired
by Minor Threat, Black Flag, and Leftover Crack. The
weaking of the hardest of cores inspired this power
trio to grab their instruments and detonate a nailbomb
of shredding guitar riffs, pummeling basslines and drum
blasts. Their music is a vulgar display of power chords
and dizzying fretplay. Find the location of their secret
cave lair in the middle of nowhere (or one of the soon-to-be-demolished-by-awesomeness
venues they're playing at) and you'll hear: the echoes
of Jeff's grunting as he fistfucks the guitar neck,
Brandon's chaotic screaming as he tears his four strings
apart from each other, and Eric expressing his overdose
of the day through rhythm.
Your time has come. So strap on your boots, grab your
guns and step right up for your chance to get a bat
to the teeth. And bring beer.
